Born and raised in the Midwest, Conovitz has always been driven to create, collaborate, and tell stories. She launched her career in Bloomingdale’s buying office and quickly built a strong base of expertise in the fashion, retail and promotional industries. In 2005, she leveraged her unique body of knowledge and founded her Brooklyn-based product development agency, twelveNYC.

Fueled by a desire to conquer challenges and take risks, twelveNYC was born from Conovitz’s vision of designing, developing and sourcing custom and chic private label and promotional merchandise. Over the past twelve years, Conovitz has succeeded in crafting a new type of product development company – one that executes the development process from start to finish; from ideation to design to production and finally, delivery. Conovitz prides herself and her team on being an extension of the client’s team; fostering a "white-glove" level of collaboration.

Her innovative approach resonated with her customers, and the company started a spate of rapid organic growth. In 2013, Katie applied to The Workshop at Macy’s program, and twelveNYC was accepted into the 2014 class, an experience that provided valuable insights into how to scale the business. Since graduating from the program, her company has expanded both, nationally and internationally with offices in New York, Los Angeles, London, and Hong Kong. twelveNYC has created products specially for Macy’s and Bloomingdales and have also created several exciting experiences within several Macy’s stores. In 2018, the company was named one of the fastest-growing companies in America by Inc Magazine.
